The 8th edition of “BactoGRE”, the annual meeting of bacteriologists in Grenoble, will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026, in the IMAG auditorium on the St Martin d'Hères campus.

It now brings together nearly 90 people from the Grenoble ecosystem whose activities include a wide variety of approaches such as molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, infectious diseases, microbial ecology, and technological developments.

This event is an ideal opportunity to bring together researchers at all career levels, share the latest scientific advances, and strengthen local networks of interdisciplinary collaboration. It is also often the first opportunity for doctoral students to present their research in a friendly atmosphere!

The BactoGRE2026 organizing committee includes Corinne Mercier (TIMC), Sophie Abby (TIMC), Sylvie Elsen (IBS, PBRC), and Jochen Fick (Neel Institute).

Two guest speakers will also present their research: Dr. Joanna Timmins (IBS, I2SR) and Dr. François Rousset (CIRI, Lyon), respectively.

Registration (free but mandatory) and submissions (presentations and posters) will open at the end of February, with a limit of 90 participants (first come, first served).
