Multimaterials and Architectured Materials for Medical Applications
Résumé
The TIMC (Techniques for biomedical engineering and complexity management-informatics, mathematics and applications) laboratory is divided into different groups with expertise in the biomedical engineering challenges for understanding and controlling normal and pathological processes in biology and healthcare. This multidisciplinary activity both contributes to the basic knowledge of those domains and to the development of systems for computer-assisted diagnosis and therapy. More specifically, the BioMMat team (Biomedical and Mechanical engineering of Materials) focuses on the mechanical behavior of both life tissues and artificial materials used in medical engineering. Of these, our team studied specifically three main material families: the nickel-titanium (NiTi) shape-memory alloys, the silicon elastomers and the bioresobable polymers.
